YOUR WORK / YOUR NEXT DIRECTION

Wondering where you fit at work?

Begin with the question you brought. A field is an area of knowledge, activity, or contribution. Understanding a possible field direction can give you something concrete to explore in your work and learning.

What could that look like?

In Avery’s fictional report, an interest in making complex information useful points toward Information Design. One small experiment is to improve a confusing set of instructions and ask someone to use it.

How the app carries the question forward
  1. Arrive and choose

Sign in, review participation terms, and choose whether to continue. Early field reflection helps introduce the questions.

  2. Explore your field

CHA Field Encoder gathers evidence. The Cryptogram explains possible field directions, reasons, and open questions.

  3. Understand the conditions

RIS Vector Decoder explores pressure and recovery. CIX and the Cipher bring the evidence into development priorities for review.

  4. Put it into practice

Mission Control connects reviewed reports, questions, and the next available step. Consider how the guidance relates to work and daily life.

These are the intended assessment and review stages. The public guide gives examples; it does not generate your personal field result. Assessment availability follows your invitation and current access.

HOW IT COULD HELP

A clearer direction.
A way to move forward.

A field is an area of work and contribution. It can guide what you study, practice, build, or offer to others. These are the three kinds of understanding Starchild is designed to support.

See how these connect in the twelve stages below, then explore what they could mean in your life.

FIELD DIRECTION / CHA

Where could you contribute?

CHA Field Encoder looks for repeated patterns in how you notice, interpret, and approach the world.

The intended result

A supported field direction, reasons behind it, and other possibilities worth exploring.

PRESSURE & RECOVERY / RIS

What helps you carry it well?

The RIS Vector Decoder explores what happens under pressure, what becomes difficult, and what helps you recover.

The intended result

A pressure-and-recovery picture, support needs, and a practical Recovery Key.

DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES / CIX

What is a useful next step?

CIX interpretation review considers your field direction alongside your circumstances and competing explanations.

The intended result

Development priorities and a proposed plan to bring into human review.

How does exploration become a supported reading?THE PATHWAY

Browsing starts with your interests. A supported reading requires guided assessment evidence, explanation, and review. Follow the stages below to understand each part and what happens next.

This is the intended design, not a claim of validated outcomes or current assessment availability. These tools are for reflection and development, not medical, clinical, legal, financial, or spiritual-authority determinations.

START WITH THE LIFE YOU HAVE

Wondering where you fit
or what comes next?

The next frontier begins within. Start with your interests, experience, and ways of thinking, then choose a situation to explore in work, learning, or life. Each offers a practical step you can consider now, whether or not you ever take an assessment.

STARTING POINT 06 / 07

Everyday work, leadership & community

How could I contribute more meaningfully where I am?

How a field portrait could help

You can explore meaningful contribution within the work and life you already have. Reflect on the tasks that engage you and the conditions that help you do them well.

SOMETHING YOU CAN TRY

Choose one task, handoff, or working routine to improve. Discuss the change with the people involved and revisit what you learn. Personal reports remain voluntary reflection material, not an automatic staffing decision.

These are illustrative possibilities, not participant outcomes or currently available school, veteran, or career services. Starchild remains in development.

Your circumstances belong in the picture

Your responsibilities, culture, resources, disability or access needs, and opportunities matter. Bring what fits, what does not, what you have tried, and what support would make exploration possible. You may explore several directions, revisit an interpretation, or stay with the work and life you already value.

FIELD DISCOVERY

How discovery
uses the field map.

CHA examines what you notice, how you make sense of a situation, what you protect or build, and how you approach problems and choices. Repeated patterns across guided responses are compared with fields of work and contribution; further questions distinguish closely related possibilities.

The intended result is a supported field direction, its reasons, nearby possibilities, and practical ways to explore it. These become the Cryptogram. A supported reading comes from assessment evidence, rather than selecting a name in the public explorer.

The Field Explorer below lets you search and browse possible directions without signing in. CHA is designed to use this map to interpret assessment evidence. Browsing and taking CHA are different activities.

How the assessment preserves the depth of your story

CHA’s field map contains 13 families, 59 clusters, and 444 fields. It seeks repeated evidence across different questions and situations. If the evidence supports only a broader direction, or needs clarification, the reading should say so. A precise field name needs sufficient support.

You may have more than one strong direction. Nearby possibilities belong in the explanation, and current research examines how to retain multiple supported fields. Some capacities become clearer in the right conditions, through practice, pressure, and recovery; an ability still developing should be considered alongside the conditions in which it can emerge.

Your field direction and your current development needs answer different questions. CIX helps connect them without treating interest, intensity, or an appealing title as evidence of readiness. Human review can recommend clarification, further practice, or a pause before a pathway proceeds.

Starchild is a non-diagnostic developmental assessment in development. Field discovery offers possibilities to investigate; it does not diagnose a condition or assign a career.

About the research map and its limits

Five lenses across the map.

People and Human Systems; Ideas and Meaning; Things and Built Systems; Nature and Living Systems; and Patterns and Abstract Systems can cross families. They are ways into exploration, rather than another level of parent groups.

Your field and your development.

A field is an area of contribution; a formation phase concerns the development you need now. The journey explains how the two connect.

Names and relationships follow the CHA V04.1 research registry, July 15, 2026. This is a research map in development. Browsing a field does not produce an assessment result or determine a career. Read about the evidence limits ↗

UNDERSTANDING PRESSURE & RECOVERY

Read the pattern
in its setting.

A field portrait describes an emerging direction. Pressure-and-recovery reflection asks what changes when time, uncertainty, responsibility, or support changes, and what helps participation become workable again.

01 RIS VECTOR DECODER

Understand what changes.

After CHA and the Cryptogram, the RIS Vector Decoder adds evidence about strain, recovery, and context. Review considers what repeats across situations and what may belong to a particular role, constraint, or support need.

02 CIX & CIPHER

Turn evidence into guidance.

CIX considers the field portrait, pressure evidence, and your circumstances together. It examines competing explanations, including an enduring pattern, temporary strain, a learned role, or something you hope to become. The Cipher carries the interpretation, uncertainties, proposed phase, development priorities, and Recovery Key into human review.

03 YOUR CONTEXT

The part that does not fit may be the clue.

An unexpected response or contradiction is a question to investigate. Keep your disagreement and the context behind it. Bring examples that challenge the interpretation, as well as any that support it. Human review can revise the recommendation, request clarification, or hold the next stage.

INFORMATION & MEANING

Information is not the same as meaning.

Visible strengths. Hidden pattern.

An answer records something you expressed. Understanding it requires context. The same behavior can reflect interest, a learned skill, a current obligation, or a response to strain. The pathway asks how these possibilities fit together before turning an interpretation into guidance.

THE VISIBLE LAYER

Responses, examples, and patterns.

Skills, interests, behavior, and growth signals: what you report noticing, doing, and returning to, and what can be observed in practice. A questionnaire response and a demonstrated skill remain different kinds of evidence.

THE INTERPRETIVE LAYER

Meaning, context, and direction.

Why something matters, how a role or pressure affects it, and how contribution relates to your identity, story, and future direction. You can question an interpretation and supply what it missed.

Starchild connects these two layers in a field map: structured evidence alongside your account of what it means. An interpretation stays open to questions, further experience, and correction.

The first impression is not the whole map.

A signal is a starting point. First Field Resonance is the opening reflection. It gives CHA a starting context; it does not settle a field, generate a full Cryptogram, or bypass the later stages. CHA deepens discovery, RIS adds pressure-and-recovery evidence, and CIX examines the combined record before Cipher guidance.

Pressure can make a pattern clearer, but it can also obscure it. A temporary response, limited opportunity, or need for support should not become a permanent account of who you are.

Sometimes recognition comes before the words.

You may feel drawn toward a question, activity, or responsibility before you can explain why. Stardyne calls this an Imaginal Signal Response (ISR): its language for recognition that precedes a clear explanation.

Treat that recognition as a prompt for reflection. Ask what you noticed, consider other explanations, try a small activity, and see what holds over time. The term does not establish a hidden ability, a measured biological mechanism, or a predetermined calling.

Starchild is non-clinical and non-diagnostic. Its interpretations support reflection, development, and human review.

PEOPLE & REVIEW

Your experience belongs
in the interpretation.

The journey combines structured discovery, lived context, and a human decision. Each contributes something the others cannot supply on its own.

THE PLATFORM

Evidence you can examine.

An interpretation should show the observations behind it, the alternatives considered, and what remains uncertain. The platform keeps those reasons available for you and your reviewer.

YOU

Context only you can bring.

Ask what a report gets right, what it misses, and what you want to investigate. Your concerns and the assessment’s guided prompts have different roles. Use the review or support route in your account to raise a question.

HUMAN REVIEW

WHILE YOU EXPLORE

A few things
to know.

Exploration begins with curiosity. A supported reading needs evidence, explanation, and review.

Can I take the assessment here?

This page offers a field explorer and fictional reports. The Starchild assessment experience and mobile apps are still in development.

Sample reports and their PDFs do not contain your results or send questions to a reviewer.

Does choosing a field give me a result?

No. Browsing is a way to explore interests. A supported field reading would require assessment evidence, explanation, and review. Interest alone does not establish proficiency, readiness, or a predetermined calling.

Do I have to choose one direction?

You may have several promising directions. The intended reading should preserve uncertainty and related possibilities, and say when the evidence supports only a broader family or cluster.
